At Ruggiero’s Taste of Italy, every dish tells a story — one that began generations ago in the sun-kissed hills of Bari, Italy, where my family first discovered that food is more than nourishment… it’s love, tradition, and connection.

Our roots run deep. My father grew up in Bari, surrounded by the aromas of slow-simmered sauces and fresh-baked bread that filled every Sunday with laughter and togetherness. When he settled in Long Island, New York, he brought those cherished family recipes with him — and passed down not just the techniques, but the passion behind them.

I was just 10 years old when my parents taught me how to cook and bake. Those early lessons became the heart of everything we do today. From our hearty baked ziti layered with creamy mozzarella and rich marinara, to our homemade cakes crafted with real butter, fresh cream, and a touch of Italian soul — every meal is a tribute to our heritage.

Each sauce is stirred by hand, each dessert baked from scratch, and every order is prepared as if we were serving our own loved ones. Whether it’s a cozy family dinner, an intimate celebration, or a special catered event, our promise remains the same — authentic Italian flavor made with heart.

Today, our journey continues in Mount Juliet, where Ruggiero’s Taste of Italy is growing from a beloved in-home catering service to a brick-and-mortar location. Soon, we’ll be offering reservation-only dining on select evenings, complete with live music and special events. We also plan to open for limited lunch hours with a to-go menu, and continue offering private catering for dinner parties and special occasions.
